We are currently working on the design and analysis of numerous three-phase winding layouts for a prestigious publisher.
These windings are default declared as asymmetric or unbalanced. It is about windings with fractional "q," where the denominator is equal to the numbers 3, 6, or 9.
By the way, please note that "q" represents the number of slots per pole and phase.
Within this series of diagrams, there are also some very 'exotic' diagrams, such as two-pole and four-pole three-phase windings with 16, 20, 32, 40 slots, as well as 6 and 12-pole windings for some slot numbers that have been appearing more frequently lately, such as 51 or 57 slots, and so on.
