2-pole winding with 3 or 4 circuits?

Sometimes, there is a need to make parallel circuits more then is the number of poles (mostly in high HP motors) because a large 2 or 4 pole motors with conventional design, rated less then 500 V, may have so few turns/coil that it is impossible to make.

Here are some examples:

- 2 pole winding in 36 slots with 3 circuits,

- 2 pole winding in 48 slots with 4 parallel circuits,

or some unusual cases, for example:

- 4 pole winding in 36 slots with 3 circuits,

- 2 pole winding in 54 slots with 3 circuits

- 4 pole winding in 45 slots with 3 circuits etc, etc...

An useful example (2 pole winding in 48 slots with 4 parallel circuits) you can find and buy right now here. Note that this design may permit an otherwise impossible design.
