Rounded or Diamond-Shaped Coils?

Is there any reason to apply the diamond shaped coils instead of rounded?
Yes.
Diamond-shape coil takes about 5% less copper than round-shape. Consequently, the efficiency is slightly increased due to lower resistance and decreasing heat. It is recommended coil shape despite the only drawback: winding head for diamond coils is probably more expensive.
